Week 2: CHILDRENS STORY BOOKS

The Tiger Who Came To Tea

After researching fairytales as a theme for the project, we came upon the idea of focusing on children's books, and to twist them, showing them in a very dark light, to create a powerful juxtaposition. I found an article on BBC online about how The Tiger Who Came To Tea story book, created the tiger to represent Hitler, which could be a great idea to develop further.

I found this image and related it to this Hitler/Tiger idea, as there could be a lot of imagery used in a performance to show this, the moustache being a slight cliche detail, however, has potential to work well as a significant detail of the character, and clue to the audience.

The tiger onesy was an idea of possibly representing the tiger as a prop on stage, either simply standing centre stage, or sat in the corner. This idea would either work really well, in a pop-art, modern manner or look ridiculous.
