As I am now thinking about my publication, the layout plays a very important roll, and I think the best way to go about it would be to emmulate the 90's riot grrrl fanzines, and feminist fanzines, as they all have a similar style. The 90's is coming back in fashion, so it would appeal to the students looking at my publication, and also the older viewers could connect to it, as they have lived through it.
I like the above collage, the expressive nature, and bold statements, however, obviously I am trying to divert from the aggressive feminist stereotypes, so if I do collages on equality in a similar style, this could be really effective.
Love this font below, looks nitty, girtty, very 90s, wheres on computer it would look really clean cut, not sure how theyve got such a grainy image- just bad technology? Need to investigate this.
The cutting out of block colour of words seems to be a theme throughout them all, so I think I should try to make my publication like a simple, cheaply made collage of words etc on pieces of paper, then photograph/scan them into the computer, and add to in-Design as images potentially.
LOVE this image below, think it could really connect well to my reclaiming words article and idea, so perhaps do a photoshoot, taking inspiration from this and FEMEN, and create images like this.
