UNIT 7: Isabelle Wenzel

ISABELLE WENZEL

Isabelle Wenzel photographs women in the most impossibe positions, hanging upside down in a corner, contorted like acrobats, sticking their high-heeled legs out of hommade cardboard constructions. Their faces are not seen and do not matter, as she shoes the female body as an object, giving the viewer a disquieting feeling. This is a brilliant representation of the objectification of women, with a fine art-esque style, creating beautiful images. I could perhaps emmulate this in my work by taking the heads off photographs of women.
